Feeling sick

Sorry fellow classmates for my late posting this week I have been ill.  I hate being sick.  Everytime the weather changes I get sick.  On top of that I guess this is allergy season too so I have had itchy eyes and a running itchy nose as well....UGH!! geesh! I have missed alot of days of work and I'm gonna be even more sick when I get my check! lol... Oh well... I have so much to catch up on, see everybody in class tomorrow I have to work on my last minute perfections!!! One class down....9 to go!!! :)

Who needs a vacation!

Well its summer time and this is when people usually get out and take trips to various places.  I know I have a few places on my list.  I love getting out of this city and going ANYWHERE different.  The change of scenery and atmostphere is just so relaxing.  Where are some of you thinking about going this summer, fall, or winter.  What kind a vacationist are you? Do you plan your trip down to a T!!! or do you just wait to get there and go with the flow?  Me, I like to just go with the flow...meet people in new places and ask them where to go and where the hottest spots are!  I like to relax I don't like feeling rushed that makes me feel like I'm in my everyday life where everything is moving moving moving....non stop! I like to chill.  So classmates tell me where your dream vacations are and what are you doing to do there! Can't wait!

Overwhelmed!!!

I know that alot of you will be able to relate to this post! Besides working full time, taking 9 credit hours this summer, single parent, and other obligations...I'm tired and a little stressed! This week has been hectic for me and somehow I feel responsible, I'm trying to knock down these classes one at a time and I think this time I have put too much on myself.  Luckily this class is only 5 weeks so I will be back down to only two classes...but its still stressful!  How do you deal with this type of stress?  Fortunately I work well under pressure this week in my Ethics class I got A's on all my assignments.... that makes up for the long hours of studying :)  Isn't that satisfying to you?  Tell me about some of your frustrations this week!

Liposuction: a quick fix...or is it.!

This topic came to mind because my best friend just got 10,000 dollars worth of liposuction! Wow! I know.  She wasn't extremely overweight but she had problem areas that she wanted to fix.  Basically she wanted a quick fix because she didn't want to or wasn't motivated to work out and loose the fat by exercise or dieting.  More and more people are turning to this kind of procedure to get quick results but are ending up gaining weight again because they haven't learn to change their lifestyle or eating habits and thus the weight will just come right back.  A few years ago I lost 35 pounds the hard way....suffering through dieting and exercising everyday.  I felt great and I was rewarded with the fact that this new body was contributed to all my efforts.  Fortuanelty the weight stayed off and I learned to eat smaller portions and I gained a love for going to the gym and feeling great afterwards.  When you skip this step and just get fat removed I think you stand a greater chance of the weight or fat coming back because you haven't learned discipline or the feeling of accomplishing something.  What are your thoughts on liposuction and other plastic surgeries?

Do single parent children miss out?

I used to get really down being a single parent.  I felt overwhelmed and like my kids deserved better.  Now that the years have pasted and they are getting older, I'm more financially stable, and more mature I don't feel like that anymore.  Sometimes having one good parent is better than two bad ones, and thats what happens sometimes when people force themselves to stay together for the kids.  The kids then get to experience fighting or lots of tension in the house which affects them too.  I grew up in a single parent home but was involved with both of my parents.  I'm actually happy that they decided to go their separate ways because I would not have enjoyed being in the house with them as a couple lol.  But I have come a long way and I'm determined that my kids have a good life and not want for much just because I have decided that I'm going to do this by myself.  I'm interested to hear from other single parents or your thoughts on children being raised by one parent...do they miss out or do they turn out just as good as others??

Whose happier?

Hello classmates! I have a topic for you. Do you think that ethical or just individuals are happier in life than unethical or unjust people? My thoughts: I think that it depends on how happiness is percieved and/or defined by each person. Ethical people can be unhappy, just because a person does right and lives by their strong values and morals does not guarentee happiness. Unethical people on the other hand tend to do what is neccessary to make themselves happy whether its right or wrong. I personally think that happiness is equal. Unethical people can live with the fact that they don't exactly live by rules or anytype of morals therefore don't feel bad or regret things they do to provide happiness in their lives. Ethical people on the other hand find happiness in doing the right things and rely on the fact that because they are doing whats right, good things will come their way... what are your thoughts?
